Have you ever heard the following expression: a little kindness goes a long way? Beginner couponers and advanced couponers alike should all take a moment out of their day to show a little kindness to some of the people they like the most; the companies that supply them with their products. By sending a simple thank you email and expressing your gratitude and love, many companies will reciprocate by sending you high value coupons for free products or at least some well received money off.
It’s basic, really, and super simple, and something that can be done when you have a spare few minutes. Call or email your favorite companies and bestow them with compliments and praise about how much you enjoy their products; then ask if there’s a possibility of getting coupons sent to you. Keep in mind though, as you head on this journey, the coupons I have received (and will talk about in a minute) may vary from the ones you get. It’s also possible that they might say they have no coupons to send out either. Just be patient and move on to the next on your list. If there is no place to add your mailing address, make sure you add it in with your message; the goal is to get coupons!
If you’re emailing a company, keep it short and sweet and to the point. Boast about what you love the most about their product and thank them for making your favorite item amazing; then slip in subtly if it would be possible for them to send you coupons, if it isn’t trouble of course! A perfect example is what I wrote to Rice Works that worked for me and was genuine:
Hello :)
I’ve been a fan (HUGE fan) of the Sweet Chili chips since they came out in my local grocery store. I was instantly hooked! I only wished I could have told you about my love sooner, but I had a blond moment and never thought to look online for your site. I’ve honestly switched from regular chips to those and it’s a must-have for munching on.
If it isn’t too much of a hassle, would it be possible to send coupons for future purchases? (so I can afford to stay your number one fan)
Much love!
Short and sweet and to the point. Companies appreciate you taking the time out of your day to show them some kindness!
These are some of the companies that serious couponers know of that have a reputation for sometimes sending out coupons. If you have a company that you would like me to add to the list, let me know in the comments and I’ll add it for you!

Hi Erin,
If you send a note to johnson&johnson.com, you can request parent coupons and they will send you a coupon for any Johnson’s product and there is no price limit. I think I got a huge bottle of Aveeno lotion for about $18.00 for free! There are also baby packs made up of several items for around $27.00 that I later found after having used my coupon.
Thanks, Darlene
