I’m a huge fan of arts & crafts, and I always have new projects that I would like to take on, but unfortunately I never have enough time to do them all. I normally work on most of my projects in front of the TV; this way I feel less guilty when I do the couch potato thing in front of the telly ;)
Anyway, there are loads of really interesting blogs about crafts out there and I wanted to share some of these with you. Since you may be one of the lucky Canadians that will be holiday next week, you may be looking for fun projects to do.
Note that they are not in order of preference because they are all different with a unique touch of style.
Martha Stewart
This is by far my personal favourite craft blog and also a great resource for anything related with housekeeping. It has so many great articles, ideas as well suggestions, making it really easy to spend hours on the site. Whatever the type project you have in mind, you’ll be able to find tutorials and tips to help you make it perfect.
Skip to my Lou is managed by Cindy, a mother of 3 kids who also has a bachelor degree in art education. There is no doubt that she puts her studies to good use. I particularly love the design of the site and also the photos that she takes. Plus, you can find recipes ideas, crafts for kids, printables and handmade gift ideas.
Make and Takes
This is another one of my favourites, which has excellent project ideas but also recipes, family living tips and much more. If you are a mom or dad, this website is perfect for you because it is fun and has some pretty interesting articles. Marie Lebaron is the managing editor of the site, but expect to see other competent contributors writing on there too.
Oh My Crafts
Oh My Crafts is a blog and also an online store. It has many great ideas that are well divided into different categories of projects. One of my favourite features is their Youtube tutorial section, teaching different projects. This can be really helpful if you’re not sure how to make something. There is a big team behind Oh My Crafts which also means loads of talent.
Craftstylish
I recently discovered this website and I quite like it because they have all sorts of fun projects that are not necessarily too complicated. One thing that I don’t like about the site is that I find that there is too much publicity and the fact that the site is managed by the Taunton Press group, which tends to make it a bit too commercial.
I hope this will help you to find everything you need to make beautiful crafts this year! I would really like to hear what was the last project that you finished and even see a photo of it if possible. Who knows, maybe you will inspire some of our readers to start crafting themselves!
