In the spirit of saving money and having fun at the same time I came across this funky site designed to help you make your own paper toys called CubeeCraft.com. Basically what you do is use their guide and print out designs on paper and make your own toys buy folding and cutting etc. They have some wonderful ideas from making your own wolverine to transformer to star wars figures, they are just purely excellent creations.
I don’t have a color printer which I am kind of sorry about now as I am just about to make a Cube e Craft myself, I went for the Peter Griffin from family guy one. Check out what it looks like below, you will completely get the idea of what you need to do.
Now on a 1 to 5 scale this was a 1, not very challenging, but fun and easy, it takes about 20 minutes to make. Going for a 5 might make it take substantially longer, excellent if you want to occupy the kids or a big baby grown up like myself. From what I could see all the printable designs are made for A4 paper, you need things like scissors and glue and some nifty handy work, having a color printer is a bonus but not completely necessary, just choose a design in black and white.
My desk, in 2 weeks will be unmanageable, I already have my sights set on the whole set of teenage mutant ninja turtles (complete with the best named bad guys in the history of everness; Shredder, Splinter, Bee bop and Rock steady), the Mac and PC guys (I can’t believe it either, they have their own figurines now) and Silent bob from Jay and Silent bob.
