We could also entitle this entry as ‘I’m related to that person?!’. If you have yet to dabble on Ancestry.ca, the main principle of the site lets you create family trees and trace your family genealogy in ways that you might not have though was possible. It could turn out that you might have a celebrity as a relative; you know, as a fifth-cousin, twice removed.
In celebration of Canada Day, Ancestry.ca is giving free access to select Census, Immigration, Military and Vital records. I briefly searched and discovered that records dating back as far as the 1600’s were available, which is pretty nifty! You are required to be registered for the site if you aren’t already and registration is free. If you haven’t checked out the site yet, take a few minutes and dabble around with it; you’ll never know what you’ll find.
If you want to read more about Ancestry or are thinking of signing up to their service we have some invaluable information here.
