The Hostelbookers Canada post and promotion below are for either Canadians wanting to stay in worldwide a hostel or for worldwide travellers wanting to stay in a Canadian hostel.
I have stayed in a bunch of hostels (I will talk about my experience in a bit) and I know how important it can be to book your hostel before your trip. There is nothing worse than getting to your destination and the hostel of choice is full (grrrr it makes me mad just thinking about it). Then I found hostelbookers.com, now it’s difficult to make me smile sometimes but whenever I think of these guys I smile, what they do is fantastic. In a nutshell you can get amazingly low hostel rates and the hostel of your choosing (they have a bunch to choose from something like 3,000) and book in advance. What makes their hostel booking service bar none the best is that you as a backpacker or just all round budget traveller get to have your say, if you experience crappy service you can warn others, if you receive amazing service you can tell the world with their review feature. They have now integrated their service with Google street view so that you can even walk around some of the hostels, that is just ridiculously useful.
Now you know me by now and even if I love a site I am not going to just write about it unless I can find a discount, offer or promotion to make your trip to the website even cheaper and I am not about to disappoint you now.
Go to Hostelbookers.com and you can get a hostel with NO booking fees. Not a bad promotion if I do say so myself, and I also think this promotion is now ongoing which is even better.
If you are interested here are a couple of my personal highlights from staying in hostels around the world:– Broke up with a girlfriend in a hostel (not fun at all and in front of everyone)
– Saw someone eat a gecko in an Australian Hostel (that was nasty)
– Stayed in a hostel that kept crocodiles (in Thailand), I have no idea what they were thinking
– Had a monkey steal my banana in Costa Rica (actually this was kind of cool)
– Stayed in a nasty hostel in Laos where all the animals (and probably the rooms) had fleasI have more but won’t share until other people do
