Here is your chance to participate to the design of your favorite bargain hunters community and to win a $100 gift card for the store of your choice. Find out more below.
As you’ve probably noticed, unless you’re a new user of Vouchercodes.ca, we’ve done a lot of changes to the design of the site during the past months. We’ve also added functions and more information to our Canadian online store section to make sure that our users could always find what they were looking for and more here at Vouchercodes.ca.
Up to now we’ve basically implemented all the changes that we’ve thought about and all the ones that some of our users have already suggested to us. But because we want to make sure that your community reflects what you want and expect from us, we now ask you to help us to improving it.
Here’s how this contest works. Suggest any improvements, additions to the site or changes you would like to see on Vouchercodes.ca. If your suggestion is feasible and we decide to implement it, not only will you see it implemented on Vouchercodes.ca, but we’ll also send you a $100 gift card for the store of your choice.
We would really like to know what you think about the website and that’s why we’re launching the contest as an incentive for our users to participate. We don’t even have a maximum amount in gift cards to give, but we have an end date to the contest though. Simply leave a comment on this page with your ideas before the 2nd of December and get a chance to get a $100 gift card, just in time for the holidays. Be creative!
How to participate:
1- Write a detailed description of your new functionality or design idea for the site and leave it as a comment on this blog post.
2- Make sure you leave a valid email address so that we can contact you if we decide to implement your suggestion.
How to get extra dollars
– ‘Like’ our Contest post on Vouchercodes Facebook page and get an extra $25 to your gift card if ever you win.
– Share it with your friends (no additional dollars, but your friends may thank you if they win ;)
Rules
– Participants must be 18 years old and older.
– Canadian participants only.
– Users can comment as many times as they like, as long as they suggest different changes.
– If two comments suggest the same kind of changes or additions, only the first comment will be chosen as the winner.
– Contest ends on Thursday, December 1st (this gives us time to implement the changes before Christmas hopefully).
– Winners will be chosen by Vouchercodes’ team of experts on the following day and will be contacted by email (will not be shared and is not visible on this page) to get the personal information for shipping purposes (so pls don’t leave any personal information apart from your name and email address in our comments section).
– Winner can choose a $100 gift card (or $125 if they’ve liked the post of FB) for the store of their choice as long as the store offers online shopping, gift cards and ships to Canada.
– Voucher Codes reserves the right to change all terms and conditions of the competition.
Good luck to everyone! And don’t hesitate to be creative and to let us know what you would like to see on Vouchercodes.ca!
Congratulations to Susie, Amy, Martin, Martha and Karyn who just won a $100 gift card for the store of their choice! And thanks everyone for participating, there were a lot of great ideas but unfortunately some weren’t feasible and others didn’t fit with the angle we’re taking for the site.
We should start working on these improvements in the upcoming year as we’re now concentrated on finding the best holiday coupons!
Don’t forget to enter our latest contest!
Thanks
We haven’t forgot you! We’re discussing who the winners will be and what changes will be implemented, so we’ll let you know tomorrow. In the meantime don’t forget to participate to our new contest! Thanks
O.K Anne, I’m kinda obsessed with thinking of ideas for your website. Here is my very last one….Many companies have freebies on your birthday! Why not have a section dedicated to Birthday Freebies! List the details on the companies, what they offer, and if you have to sign up with them to get the Freebie. We could all take advantage of that! Here’s hoping you like one or more of my ideas :)
You could also send out the option for people to put Vouchercodes on their toolbar for fast access! Also you can have a section dedicated to programs where one can collect points (Airmiles, Aeroplan, Indigo, Optimum, RBC, etc.), do surveys for rewards, mystery shop for money, or just unusual sites like Cardswap where you can sell your giftcards…the possibilities are endless…I know of soooo many!
Hey there! Another idea would be to have categories added for student, teacher, and senior discounts. I know that there are a lot out there and as a teacher it would be appreciated :)
How about changing the cursor of the website according to each season since its winter, maybe change the cursor to a snow flake? the code is easy to find on google just look for a cursor javascript.
Have a side screen on the Home Page that moves slowly but constantly with the best/most popular sales and voucher codes for that week! Kind of like the way the CNN ticker moves on the bottom with the latest news to read as you watch tv. Make it more brief. Ex.) Westjet 40% off all flights Promo Code S7J65H. We can click on it to pause it or just take us there to buy. Have a Monday weekly vote to see which ones come in first to post on that screen.
I really like the latest comments added. We already have a ‘green’ category but we’ve never use it enough… We’ll give it some thought.
The contest is getting closer to an end and we really like all the suggestions that we had so far. Any other fabulous ideas?!?
Thanks everyone.
I am a strong believer that things that have passed should be removed immediately from a website, keeping the site simple by removing the decorative edges is also important as it floods the mind and one may not focus as easily on the intent of the visit to the website. Too much info on one page is not such a good idea, rotating the info on the first page is important, one has to read too much to find what is really happening. A brief highlight and click to a new window and less writing would achieve at least a 40% better response to taking advantage of free offers, but you have to remove what has expired….. I leave a site that shows expired opportunities…..
Have a section titled “Code Green” where you keep readers up to date on the latest ways to save environmentally. List “green” coupons for health food products, natural cleaning products, lightbulbs that use less energy. List voucher codes and sales for companies that adhere to environmentally conscious ways. Have ideas and articles on how to be environmentally conscious and save money at the same time! Connect with the province as they have environmental money saving programs you can talk about on your site. Ex.) Incentives for low flush toilets, free pick up for old fridges, money back for buying environmentally sound furnaces…
How about having a catchy Website Logo that goes with your name like “You can vouch on us.” Have a “Vouch of the Day” that you send out daily to your E-mail list with your best voucher code! Make a deal with these companies where you get a “kickback” or percentage for however many people use that code through your link :) Everybody wins in this scenario!
Thanks everyone! Keep writing suggestions, we like what we see so far! There are some excellent ideas…
Vouchercodes.ca used to have a lot more content so it was easier to follow with the latest deals happening. I think that writing more content to let Canadians know about the latest bargains and freebies everyday would be a nice improvement.
More stuff in the Editor’s Pick section, I love this section. You always post funny stuff.
A Vouchercodes iPhone app would be wicked!!! Something where we could see if there are coupons available for the store we’re in! I don’t know if it’s feasible, but it would definitely be a good add-on to your site.
I would like to be able to participate more to this site. I know that we can submit coupons but I would like to be able to interact with others also. What about adding a forum to the site?!?
Let’s hope this is good enough to get a $100…
It would be nice to see new articles in the French section more often. I understand English but it’s easier to read them in French.
Merci!
I ‘Like’ Vouchercodes on Facebook. (I didn’t see the contest post to like)
I would like to see the expiration dates of coupons displayed more prominently and in larger text. I would also like to see expired coupons removed from the site as soon after expiration as possible. For example, I was looking at Old Navy coupons today and had to look a few times to find the expiration date. I also found most of the coupons posted had already expired, some coupons dating back to June!
the web site needs to have a better loggo….more canadian….a huge red and white flag or a leaf maybe holding a coupon???? A daily special or monthly special or both….easily usable, so new user like myself can navigate and not have to do a lot of reading or be unsure of what they are doing. A list on the side is a great thing, easy to scroll and choose. Make it a secure site as well, that goes a long way with people today. Thank you for your time, and good luck to all in the contest, now what would i spend my $100.00 gift card on if I was the lucky winner, hummmm.
Have a column on the left side of the website listing high interest page options or top companys, best deals, (that kind of thing) on your site. something similar to the set up of coupon categories, but higher on the page. Coupon Catergories could also be higher.
Have a monthly contest with attractive prizes to keep the traffic coming back.
Use a better font for subheadings on the blog – so that it’s easier to read.
Use more well-designed graphics to lighten up the site.
Minimize text for each blog entry – and use a easily noticeable button/icon that says “download” to download or activate coupons. Also try to use more lists/tables to organize all the information because there seems to be a lot of text to read throughout the Website.
On the homepage, feature a “special” or “oh my god” deal every month (or just some other regular basis).
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK
make the site more colourful.
Please attempt to supply more grocery-store coupons, promotional savings advice.
This would help lower everyone’s food costs.
Thank-you.
