Calling all Canadians (literally) you can now get free long distant calls with just your PC or Mac courtesy of budphone.ca. I was skeptical until I visited the site, it looks legit, but as we don’t make many long distance calls we wont use this one. So if someone could review it that would be excellent.
This is how it works. The Bud Phone is a free desktop application that turns any PC or Mac into an absolutely free phone line. Customers (once registered) get their own Canadian phone number and use it to receive free calls anywhere in the world, plus make long distance calls to numerous cities in Canada for free. Here is a list of all the cities in Canada you can call for free (like Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal.
Even voice mails are sent to your email account as an audio file (which is just awesome if you ask me), or simply from your home phone or swanky Bud Phone.
