Shop.ca will soon be launched in Canada and we expect a big buzz about it. This new kind of online store will allow members to earn rewards with all their online purchases. It is not available yet, but should be later this month, so stay posted. I’ve heard they have a lot of money invested in it, so watch this space.
How it Works?
Shop.ca is basically an online store that sells a huge variety of products from the most popular brands. They have items in a wide selection of categories (26 at my last count), from toys to shoes, electronics, sporting goods, music, movies, jewellery, etc.
Canadians can simply sign-up for free and start shopping on Shop.ca to earn rewards with all their purchases. As a regular member they will be able to get 0.5% back on every dollar they spend, but there are also different ways to earn up to 2.5% on all purchases. Shop.ca also rewards members who refer friends and family to them through any social media sharing.
The more you share and the more you shop, the more you can earn.
What are the Benefits?
We haven’t tried using it yet (because it wasn’t live when I started writing this), but from everything that we’ve read it seems like something Canadians could use to their own benefit. If you’re already shopping online, then why not getting rewards with your purchases? (as long as the products is the same price if not cheaper than the competition)
Shop.ca offer free shipping on all orders over $40, which is pretty good, I can’t wait until more Canadian stores adopt this kind of policy. Plus they offer free returns on all qualifying items, another green tick from me. They also claim that there are no duties or custom fees to be paid, we can’t wait to see that because this is certainly one of the big hassles when shopping online. For a limited time only, all new members will also get a $10 reward on their first purchase of $100 or more.
